Walk into a Raising Cane's expecting a menu board and you get a surprise. There isn't much of one. No burgers, no nuggets, no grilled anything, no breakfast. A chain with more than 900 restaurants has spent almost thirty years selling one product, and the rest of the board exists to sit next to it.
That makes ordering easy once you know the shape of it. The only real decision is how many fingers you want, because the combos differ by almost nothing else. Here is the whole thing, item by item.
The combos, and how they differ
Six combos, and the difference between the first three is the finger count. Same fries, same coleslaw, same Texas Toast. Nothing else changes.

Everything you can order on its own
Skip the combo and the list gets even shorter. These are the individual items, and there are no others.
- Chicken Fingers
- Sold in 3, 4 or 6 pieces with no sides. Same fingers as the combos.
- Chicken Sandwich
- Three fingers on a brioche bun with Cane’s Sauce and lettuce. The only sandwich they make.
- Crinkle Fries
- Crinkle cut, salted. The only fried side.
- Coleslaw
- Sweet and creamy rather than vinegary. Comes in every combo except the Kids.
- Texas Toast
- Thick buttered and grilled white bread. Included in most combos.
- Cane’s Sauce
- Extra cups are sold on their own, and most people order at least one more.
Drinks
- Fresh Squeezed Lemonade
- Made in store, regular or large. The signature drink and the most ordered item after the fingers.
- Sweet Tea
- Southern style, properly sweet.
- Fountain Drinks
- The usual soft drink line-up.
What Cane's does not sell, and never has
Half the questions about this menu are about things that are not on it. Worth saying plainly, because plenty of people turn up expecting at least one of these.
- Burgers
- Never had them. Cane’s has sold chicken fingers and nothing else since 1996.
- Chicken nuggets
- Fingers only. They are whole tenderloin, not chopped and formed.
- Grilled or baked chicken
- Everything is fried to order. There is no grilled option at all.
- Breakfast
- Most locations open late morning. No breakfast menu anywhere.
- Salads
- Coleslaw is the only vegetable on the menu.
- Desserts
- No ice cream, no cookies, no pies.
- Wings or bone-in chicken
- Boneless tenderloins only.
The sauce, which is half the point
Ask anyone why they go and the answer is usually the sauce rather than the chicken. The recipe has never been published. What is clear from tasting it is a mayonnaise base with ketchup, Worcestershire, garlic and considerably more black pepper than you would guess. Every combo comes with one cup, the Caniac comes with two, and extra cups are sold at the counter. Order more than you think you need; nobody has ever regretted it.

That is the entire menu at every location in the country.
How many items are on the Raising Cane's menu?
Around fifteen if you count every size and side separately, which is why people describe it as the shortest menu in fast food. Compare that to a few hundred at most drive-throughs. The chain has kept it that narrow deliberately since it opened in Baton Rouge in 1996.
Does Raising Cane's have burgers or nuggets?
No, and it never has. The only protein they sell is the chicken finger, a whole tenderloin marinated for 24 hours and fried to order. There are no nuggets, no burgers, no wings and no grilled chicken of any kind.
What is the difference between the combos?
Only the number of fingers, with one exception. The 3 Finger, Box and Caniac Combos give you three, four and six fingers with the same fries, coleslaw and Texas Toast. The Caniac adds a second sauce. The Kids Combo drops the coleslaw and toast, and the Tailgate is a 25 finger box for a group.
What is Cane's Sauce made of?
The company has never published the recipe. What is known is that it is mayonnaise based with ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic and a lot of black pepper, which is where the peppery finish comes from. It is served with every combo and sold separately by the cup.
Does Raising Cane's have a secret menu?
Not an official one, but the counter will do a few things if you ask. Fries with extra seasoning, sauce on the sandwich rather than beside it, and a Caniac with the sides swapped are all normal requests. There is no hidden item to order by name.
Is there anything for vegetarians?
Very little, and it is fair to say the menu is not built for it. The crinkle fries, coleslaw, Texas Toast and drinks contain no meat, but everything is prepared in a kitchen built around fried chicken and the fries share fryers. There is no meat-free main.
