Chipotle Catering Overview 2026
Chipotle offers three main catering formats: Burritos by the Box for small groups (6+), and Taco Bar or Bowl Bar for larger events (10-200+ people). All packages use the same fresh ingredients as the regular menu. No catering-specific ingredients or shortcuts.
Orders can be placed online at chipotle.com, through the Chipotle app, or by calling your local restaurant. Pickup is standard; third-party delivery is available at select locations through DoorDash or Uber Eats.

Burritos by the Box is Chipotle's most popular catering option for small groups. Each person gets one fully customized burrito with their choice of protein, rice, beans, cheese, sour cream, and salsa, all wrapped and labeled individually.

Taco Bar & Bowl Bar
Both bars are set up buffet-style with chafing dishes kept warm throughout your event. Guests serve themselves and customize their own bowls or tacos. Minimum 10 people. Both are priced at $11.75 per person.

How to Order Chipotle Catering
Click "Catering" from the main menu. You can also call your local Chipotle directly.
Choose at least 24 hours ahead. For 50+ people, order 48-72 hours ahead to be safe.
Pick Burritos by the Box, Taco Bar, or Bowl Bar. Enter the number of people.
For bars, pick 2 proteins. For burritos, you can let each person choose or pick one for all.
Add chips and salsa, guac, queso, or drinks separately. These are not auto-included.
Pay online or by card at pickup. You will get a confirmation email with your order details.
Tips to Save on Chipotle Catering
For bars, chicken is the crowd pleaser and sofritas keeps vegetarians happy. Steak adds cost if you pick it as one of your proteins.
Buying water through Chipotle catering adds $2.50-$3.00 per person. A Costco water flat costs a fraction of that for large groups.
The chips and salsa add-on is per person at $3.25. For large groups, you can buy chip bags directly at the counter at check-in for less.
Chipotle Rewards points apply to catering orders placed through the app. Large catering orders earn significant points for future free items.
Last-minute catering orders risk the restaurant being out of a protein or unable to fulfill the quantity. 48 hours removes this risk entirely.
